I would like to know if it is possible, when creating a BOM, to use units other than inventory unit. For example, we buy refrigerant gas in cylinders and charge in kilograms or grams, depending on the size of the refrigeration unit. The inventory unit is grams. For the bigger refrigeration units, we want to use kilograms while the smaller refrigeration units, we want to use grams. The 2 types of refrigeration units belong to different divisions, having their own personnel.

Would be grateful for early advice.

Tks & rgds,

Ravi Kumar

Hi,

You cannot use a different unit in BOM than the inventory unit.
Maybe you could play with the BOM unit of the end item.

Example : for end item A I need 0.01562 grams of component B. If I would use a BOM unit of 1000 for end item A, I could enter 15.62 grams as net quantity for component B.

Hope this leads to a solution.

Regards.
