We buy chequered aluminium plates in kilograms and issue them in pieces. Each piece is of standard dimension. However, due to the nature and limitations of the manufacturing process for these items, the weight varies from piece to piece even within a consignment. Due to this there is variation in the costing as well as in the stock as there is an assumed conversion rate of kgs per piece.

How can I sort out this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ravi,

U can try with this

1) Change conversion factor before entering into any sales order

2) develop an utility which will change the con factor for u after entering a sales order.

Hi Ravi,

Pl follow this steps:

1) buy items is kgs
2) Maintain receipts in kgs
3) issue the material in nos. by standard weight
4) the difference is stock needs to be reconcile at an interval suitable to you by invnetory transaction or by cycle counting and correct the stock based on standrard weight per plate.
