I am trying to setup Item conversion codes for 850S IN in our BaanIV system. Presently it is set to No and hence no conversion is being done. If I now turn it to Yes, it will try to convert every single item, even if it is the correct item number. To me it looks like that in Baan for incoming messages there is no hierarchy to see if the item is not defined in the conversion table(s) then look in the standard item master and see if it is there. If this is the case then we will have to put all the items in the conversion table(s) regardless they need conversion or not if we want to turn on the item code conversion on.

Can somebody, please, confirm whether it is possible to set-up item code conversion for incoming EDI message such that we just define the items that need to be converted and for other items it just check agains the item master.

have you set the field "action on conversion error" to 'ignore' in the conversion setup ?
