I have a question about setting up the Lot ID structure in Baan IVc4. If I don't use all 9 elements with table or date fields, the system responds with a message saying "Position already occupied" and prevents me from saving the record. None of the documentation available to me, including help, does indicate that all elements have to be used. And it wouldn't make sense, IMO. So is this a Baan bug? If not, what if I only want to use, e.g. item and a date field?

10. Seq. no. 13 16

The layout now looks like

1111111122330000

I have put reset seq no. to every day. It works like a charm!

Thank you for your response. Your suggestion might work but I need to be more flexible in setting up our ID structure. As it turns out, the problem described is a Baan bug (see solution #159208, superseded by #161603).
