To start with the last question: there is no relation with controlling.

SOLUTION DESCRIPTION:
Best method is when I explain with an example.
Say you have ledger account 'hours' with one mandatory first dimension:
productiondepartment. The quantity is hrs on the ledger account HOURS in
tfgld0108m000.
What will happen is that hours in project or manufacuring, and in you book
the on both the ledger account and dimensionmentioned above, and you have
the display unit flag in the dimension master on 'YES' you will also see the
number of hours booked on the dimension in the display/print sessions.
If no unit is defined on the ledger account you will not see anything on the
dimension, allthough the flag 'display units' may be on 'yes'.
Maybe you can test it yourself in your test company, together with an
consuktant.
Allthough you can adjust the parameter in a runing company, it is best to
decide on it when implementing Baan, to avoid inconsistant and thus
