Well,

I searched for qss.sort and the search engine returned two threads. But its not making the qss.sort string as red in one of the threads. Also its just ignoring qss.sort() while it still has qss.sort in it.

Any ideas why it is so?Will it hamper the effiency of search?

Yep, the () are filtered out of the search hence the occurrence is not picked up.

Hey Pat,

You have edited your Post from NO to YES in seconds.

Anyway , does it mean that we can't use special characters in our search???

I was too quick in answering :)

Yes special characters are always deleted from search strings.

Pat,

If you look at the mraja71 thread, which is returned when u search with qss.sort, in the last post in that thread ,qss.sort is ignored when it is like this [qss.sort].

Take a look here (http://baanboard.com/baanboard/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6157&highlight=qss.sort).

I think that's because the string is enclosed by [ ]
